Library Annual Summer Events
Tails and Tales: 2021 Summer Fun for All Ages at the Seminole Community Library!
June 13 – August 7
The library will be offering a variety of in-person and virtual programming this summer for patrons of all ages, including reading challenges, crafts, book clubs, movies, and more!
Adults
Book Bingo Challenge for Adults: Beginning June 13th, stop by the 2nd floor Information Desk to pick up your bingo card. Earn a prize for the first five challenges you complete, and get entered into the Grand Prize drawing when you complete five challenges in a row.
Friday Movie Matinee: Join us in-person each Friday afternoon at 1pm in June and July to enjoy a movie geared toward adults that is guaranteed to delight and entertain.
Children
Tails and Tales Reading Challenge: (Birth-Grade 5). Beginning June 13, pick up a reading log and earn incentives as you read through the summer. All participants completing the challenge will receive a free book and be entered in a prize drawing!
Take-and Make Crafts: Stop by the Children’s Department to pick up the weekly craft, activity sheets, and more to complete at home. View a craft tutorial on our Facebook page each week.
Toddler/Preschool Storytime: (Ages 5 and under). Join Miss Jill on Zoom at each Tuesday morning at 10:00 am for a virtual storytime including songs, movement, and stories.
Wiggle, Giggle, and Sing!: (Ages 5 and under). Join Miss Allison on Zoom each Thursday morning at 11:30 am for wiggly, giggly, musical activities.
Creative Kids: (Grades 3-5). June 16 and 30, July 14 and 28. Stop by the Children’s Department anytime during library hours on these dates to pick up a summer themed take-and-make craft activity specially selected for this age group. First-come-first serve.
Graphic Novel Book Club: (Grades 2-4). June 21 @ 4:30-5:30 pm. Featuring Brian “Smitty” Smith’s popular graphic novel, Pea, Bee, & Jay: Stuck Together, join us for a virtual discussion and activities. Space is limited, and registration required at graphicbook.eventbrite.com. A copy of the book and activities will be available to registered participants in the Children’s Department on June 7. All participants must have internet access, a webcam and microphone.
Elementary Summer Breakout: (Grades K-5). July 27 @ 4:30-5:30 pm. Participate virtually, and work collaboratively with your team to solve the puzzles, crack the code, and breakout of a
virtual room! Registration required at virtualbreakout.eventbrite.com. All participants must have internet access, a webcam and microphone.

Graphic Novel Book Club: (Grades 3-7). July 19 @ 4:30-5:30 pm. Featuring Varian Johnson’s popular graphic novel, Twins, join us for a virtual discussion and activities. Space is limited, and registration required at graphicbook.eventbrite.com. A copy of the book and activities will be available to registered participants in the Children’s Department on June 28. All participants must have internet access, a webcam and microphone.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeons and Dragons Summer Campaign: (Grades 6-12). June 19 and 26, July 10, 17, 24, 31 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Join Pokemon Trainer Delaney on Zoom for a six-week D&D summer campaign. No experience required. Space is limited, and registration required at pokemondnd.eventbrite.com
Teen Mosaic: (Grades 6-12). June 1-September 1. Teen Mosaic is an annual magazine published by the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative, designed to highlight the creativity of Pinellas County School students. Stop by the Children’s Department for more details, and to pick-up an entry form.
