The Community Development Department has the overall responsibility for:

• Planning and Community Development for the City of Seminole; and,

• Management of the Building / Code Enforcement Division;

The Department's Planning and Community Development efforts include economic development and annexation-related activities, as well as the review and administration of the City's Land Development Regulations and Comprehensive Plan. In addition, short and long-range planning for the City is also a primary responsibility of the Community Development Department.

The Department's Building / Code Enforcement Division oversees construction activities, licenses businesses and enforces the City's Code of Ordinances. Building Division staff review plans, issue permits, and inspect projects that require a permit. They work closely with other City staff to ensure that projects large and small meet City, County and State requirements.

The activities of the Community Development Department are directed to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the community by providing top quality professional, efficient and timely services.
