Public Policy Management Associate: The City of Seminole is seeking a full-time, temporaryPublic Policy Management Associate.  Selected individuals will be placed in a management-track local government position, shaped by direct supervision under senior City management leaders and rotational assignments. Selected individual will develop real-world management skills while participating in meaningful and important local government projects. The associate will perform entry-level, professional work as may be assigned. Duties and responsibilities are designed to further prepare the incumbent for a successful career in local government. The Management Associate will be provided an opportunity to work on projects based in a variety of City departments while maintaining a “home base” in the City Manager’s office. The Management Associate will be involved in research, analytical work, and special projects. This position represents one year of full-time employment including employment benefits.
Must possess a Florida class "E" driver’s license, high school diploma/equivalent, and have successfully graduated from the St. Petersburg College, Public Policy Program. Must possess general knowledge of municipal governments.  Must demonstrate proficiency with PCs and computer software/applications and general knowledge of office equipment. Starting salary $14.34/ hour. Salary range to $20.80/ hour.

City Inspector: The City of Seminole is seeking a full-time Building Inspector. Duties include enforcement of local and state codes, ordinances, regulations, statutes; perform plan reviews; perform building inspections for safety, structural, electrical, gas, mechanical, plumbing, municipal, and construction. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma/equivalent, valid Florida driver’s license, state licensed Building Code Inspector, certified in one & two family dwelling OR certified in building, mechanical, electrical and plumbing preferred. Five (5) years employment experience in comparable position. The selected applicant will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening. Starting salary: depending upon qualifications (D.O.Q.). Salary range: $41,857.50/year to $60,693.36/year. Training Technician: Part-time-20 hours/week. Organize equipment, schedule in-house training, maintain training records, handle ordering, and Fire Rescue supplies,  inventory management of household equipment and firefighting equipment. This is a non-firefighter position. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and computer proficiency, a valid Florida driver’s license, good interpersonal skills, and selected candidate must be a non-smoker/ non-tobacco user both on and off job for one year prior to time of employment and maintain non-smoking status throughout employment. Knowledge of fire suppression/prevention methods preferred. Entry level position starting at $10.94/ hour.  Salary range: $10.94/ hour to $15.87/hour.
